Time is flying, so we must be having fun! The nice thing about October is that routines have been settled, new friendships have been forged, and we’re really into the ‘meat and potatoes’ of learning.
I’d like to share some of the things I’ve seen around the building lately; like the water cycle song I got to sing with some 5th graders, some exciting narrative and autobiographical writing in 3rd and 4th grades, and lots of storytelling in kindergarten using pictures and words. Did you know some of our kindergarteners are beginning to write in sentences?
A few reminders about protocol at Peirce:
1) Drop off and pick up times are going well, but please remember that staff is supervising all children, it is NOT a good time for a serious discussion about any issue. Please make appointments with teachers, assistants, or even myself, so we can address your concerns without interfering with supervision and safety.
2) Drop off means exactly that…drop off. The children should be getting out of the cars, not the grown-ups. If you need to get our of the car, you need to find a legal parking spot. If you have a special circumstance (crutches, a special project to be delivered) please make arrangements with a staff member ahead of time, and we would be happy to help.
3) No dogs allowed, no matter how friendly they are.
The Peirce community always comes through when it comes to the safety of our kids, so thank you for your continued support during these potentially chaotic periods.
Thank you all, and especially to Lori and the rest of you who made movie night a success!
