In the past, if your child was absent, and we had not heard from you, a volunteer would call your house to verify your child’s whereabouts. Soon, we won’t have to ask for volunteers for this task. We are purchasing Connect Ed (thanks to out PTO), which will have many uses, including a phone call or email confirming your child’s absence. There is more information in today’s Daily Bulletin from Margy.
On Another Note:
Many of you received MCAS results this weekend. While we believe that MCAS results are important, and we aim for success for all, it is important to remember that no one test could ever measure the full potential of a child. Intelligence and creativity are always hard to measure.
With that being said, we are very proud of our performance on the MCAS this year. Peirce teachers start preparing children for the higher level thinking needed on such exams in kindergarten, and continue to challenge our children all the way through 5th grade. We take our scores seriously, and are always keeping school improvement in our minds.
Your continued support with homework, fundraising for materials, and volunteering, contribute greatly to our successes, and it is always appreciated. A special thank you to all of you who ran and supported the Peirce PTO booth at Town Day this year!!
